Event Types
Wondering what that IT event means?
It isn't always obvious what an IT event (log events, stack traces, configuration file statements, and more) means. The Splunk community has created a collection of Event Types you can explore to help you figure it out!
An event type is a Splunk
search that describes a set of events that share common characteristics
such as keywords and punctuation patterns, such as all sshd syslog
events.
